The Girls' Friendly Society is better known as the G.F.S. It is an organisation for girls from the age of 7 years old. The adult members are called Townsend Fellowship (T.F.) members and they help to run the branch work and activities for the girls. There is also a sub-section called the 15-30s run by a young T.F. member .

The G.F.S. is an international voluntary organisation established within the Anglican Church. The G.F.S. mission statement is 'G.F.S. Platform demonstrates Christianity in action by providing a safe and secure environment where girls and young women can build on their self esteem to gain personal confidence and move forward in today's society'.

At branch meetings, the members enjoy a variety of activities which includes learning new crafts, acting, cooking, playing games and having a great deal of fun. Each meeting closes with a short act of worship and the G.F.S. prayer. During the year, the girls take part in church activities by helping at fayres, services, making the palm crosses for Palm Sunday, church cleaning and anything else we are able to help with.

We meet in the church hall on Friday's during school term time, from 7.00pm - 8.30pm. We welcome any girls who want to join us, as long as they are aged 7 or over. There is a small weekly charge to help pay for the hall costs and craft materials.
