Junior Church
Junior Church is open to all children over 3 years of age, usually up to about 13 years, meeting on all but the first Sunday of the month and summer school holidays. The children gather in the Church for the beginning of the main Eucharist service at 9.30am, but leave the adults for their own meeting which takes place in the Church Hall. The children return towards the end of the Eucharist for a blessing and the final prayers.

On the first Sunday of the month, the Junior Church attend the All Age Eucharist or Parade Service in Church at 9.30am, this lasts for approximately 45 minutes.

The aim of the Junior Church is to help the children come to know Jesus through stories, prayer and worship, also to know that they are valued members of the St Luke church family.

The meetings begin with a short period of worship, when a collection is taken. There will be discussion around the theme of the day with, perhaps a game and a song. Children then split into groupsaccording to age for stories, activities etc. During the year, there will be three or four special events such as outings and a Christmas party to which any children in the church are welcome, whether they attend Junior Church meetings or not.

A Crèche meets in the Hall most weeks during the 9.30am Parish Eucharist. The Creche caters for children up to 3 years old and is staffed by experienced St Luke's personnel. Additionally, for younger children who prefer to remain in church with their parents, we have books and toys for them to use.
