Congratulations on considering marriage!


Before you contact the vicar to arrange a wedding at Luke’s, you need to be aware of the following information:


  • In order for a couple couple to get married at St Luke's, one them need to meet one of these qualifying connections:


1. lives in the parish (you can search this map)

2. is on the Church’s electoral roll

3. has at any time lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months

4. has habitually attended normal church services in the parish church for at least 6                            months

5. was baptised in the parish

6. was prepared for confirmation in the parish


                one of their parents; at any time after they were born:


7. has lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months

8. has at any time habitually attended normal church services in the parish church for a                      period of at least 6 months


                one of their parents or grandparents:


9. was married in the parish


                or:


10. they have been granted a Special Licence


  • You will also need to be prepared to prove your identity and nationality by showing your passport in your initial meeting.


  • Please be aware that the wedding fee (set nationally by the Church of England) is between £550-£650.


  • Please allow for around 5 months from initial contact to wedding day.


  • Couples wishing to marry where one or both members are not British or Irish citizens, or 'EU pre/settled', must apply for a 'Marriage Schedule' (SRMS) from a registry office. This can take around 70 days from the first appointment and must start while both have been in the UK for at least 7 days. For up-to-date details, please check with a registry office.

 Baptisms


We joyfully Baptise (christen) babies, children and adults. To arrange a baptism  come to our 10am Sunday service and we will take your details and book a date there and then. Below are some FAQs

When do baptisms take place? on a Sunday at 12noon, usually on the 3rd Sunday of the month

How long is a baptism service? between 20 to 30 minutes

How many guests can the church hold? 120

Can we choose readings and hymns? Yes
