Easter Monday Pilgrimage St Albans Abbey - ‘All things new’

Monday 1 April - service at 3pm

What is the Easter Monday Pilgrimage?

Every year hundreds of people from across the diocese and beyond journey together to St Albans Cathedral for an Easter celebration. Some walk from their home church, some drive or cycle, some walk or get a bus or lift-share from a hub church.

What happens when we get there?

We’ll gather on the grass in front of the cathedral with picnics, before heading into the cathedral for an informal service of Holy Communion led by Bishop Jane, during which we’ll sing together, and hear some excellent short Easter reflections. Dogs are welcome and most of us sit on the floor, although chairs are available if you’d prefer that.

When and where is it?

Gather from lunchtime onwards outside the cathedral. We’ll start to move into the cathedral from 2.30pm and the service will start at 3pm.

Sunday 7th April - There will be no 8.30am Service only 10am Service of the Word.
